Introducing our new Head of User Experience

  • Insights

15th April 2019

Here at Elixel we’ve got huge ambition to transform businesses, across the southwest and beyond! Design underpins everything we do (as evidenced in every digital transformation we have crafted for our clients over the years) but nothing excites us more than helping organisations unleash their own creative potential. We are so proud to have helped treasured clients innovate through the Design Thinking approach and now it’s time to kick the design revolution up a notch!

We are thrilled to announce the recent appointment of highly experienced ex-IBM Master Inventor and UX designer, Rob Breeds.  After 19 years at IBM, Rob has become a fantastic new addition to our team.  He is already helping us leap forward with our development plans and we can’t wait to reveal more updates over the coming months! Rob passionately shares our ambition to boost productivity in the region’s biggest businesses, through unlocking their latent talent and improving communication across departments.

“Rob’s track record of design leadership, delivery and quality at enterprise level is exactly what we need to help us drive our business forward. The growth of Elixel over the last 18 months is evidence that businesses are looking for help to innovate. They are realising that they need help to overcome the challenges that stand in their way. We help them achieve improved customer experience, faster time to market and more engaged employees.”

- Gavin Jones, Managing Director of Elixel

Joining Elixel as Head of User Experience, Rob will spearhead our mission to help businesses large and small deliver on their goal of better customer experience. It’s a no brainer that putting the customer front and centre in an organisation’s culture helps employees work towards a shared goal. Utilising Rob’s experience in this area across multiple industries, Elixel has already been running workshops to bring people together from across organisations. In these partnerships we have helped tackle present challenges and revealed plenty of hidden ones, helping teams to convert them into opportunities for the business to grow and improve.

On a personal note, Rob is very much an ocean city boy, having lived near Portsmouth, Southampton, Plymouth and now Bournemouth, over the last several decades! He has two grown-up daughters who continually amaze him with their achievements in subjects completely unrelated to design. Rob is absolutely passionate about getting to the bottom of user experience and delivering services that customers deserve. Outside of work he loves to walk in the sea air, and try to stay upright on his paddle board.

“I am delighted to be welcomed into the Elixel team. They care deeply about bringing about positive change in businesses and organisations through good design practices, and I’m excited to be part of that.”

- Rob Breeds, new Head of User Experience at Elixel

We are equally as excited to welcome Rob! We know he’ll fit right in with our team. Click here to learn more about Design Thinking and the work Rob has been doing with us. Discover our Design Thinking workshops here.  And watch this space for updates on our future ventures with Rob at our side.
